Long Haul Dismissal

March 2024 – After successfully obtaining judgment in favor of the employer in 2015 – only to have its success partially reversed on appeal in 2018, Summer Young-Agriesti and Melissa Brandman were able to finally obtain a complete dismissal for their business owner and celebrity client in 2022. In March 2024, the Court of Appeal affirmed the ruling.

Obtained upfront dismissal

JUNE 2023 – Obtained upfront dismissal of wrongful termination case against Young Thomas Law’s fortune 500 client in exchange for waiver of costs and malicious prosecution claims.

Complete PAGA dismissal

DECEMBER 2022 – Our attorneys secured complete dismissal of representative PAGA case for client after Viking River. Plaintiff’s appeal was dismissed due to repeated defect.

Complete victory in PAGA case

SEPTEMBER 2020 – On behalf of a Fortune 500 company, Summer Young-Agriesti and Ana Thomas obtained a complete victory in a PAGA case involving almost 2,000 class members, one of only a few PAGA trials in Orange County California.

The case revolved around wage statements and the applicable hourly rate to be displayed on the wage statement for hourly employees who also received bonuses. Although the trial court disagreed with our theory, the Court of Appeals reversed, and the California Supreme Court also sided with the employer. This is an unusually favorable outcome in today’s employment law climate.

Firm obtains complete dismissal at trial

APRIL 2019 – Ana Thomas represented a large hospital corporation in a case involving an alleged denial of access by a plaintiff with a service dog.  After the start of trial, plaintiff’s claims were dismissed with prejudice by the court, resulting in a complete defense victory.

Summer Young-Agriesti and Ana Thomas obtain summary judgment as to all causes of action in discrimination case

MARCH 2017 – Los Angeles Superior Court. Obtained Summary Judgment on behalf of large hospital management corporation as to all seven causes of action asserted against it.  The complaint asserted race discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims in downtown Los Angeles, which is one of the most liberal jury pools in the country.  Prevailing party costs of approximately $15,000 were obtained.
